Backpacks and Pockets.

Backpacks and Coat or Trouser Pockets give the player a carry capacity in Lbs

For example a medium Backpack Grant's 80lbs of capacity, a Regulators Duster Grant's 10lbs of capacity and the  wasteland Armour leg piece Grants 5lbs of capacity  so a player with all three would be able to carry 95lbs as well as their equipped items.

Maximum Carry weight.

Your maximum carry weight controls the total amount your player can carry  for example a player with 80lbs of maximum carry and the armour shown in the example would only be able to comfortably carry 60.5lbs in capacity before they become over encumbered.

Players can exceed their maximum carry weight but suffer a penalty to speed as shown below.

This penalty also applies to a player exceeding their capacity even if they are within the maximum amount they can carry

Cary weight over capacity or player max Penalty
20lb -10 ft of speed
40lb Disadvantage on every second roll
60lb You recover half as much hp from resting
80lb Double the players eating and Drinking needs
100lb Speed Drops to 0

Each effect stacks with those below for example a player carrying 60lb over their maximum weight would suffer a loss of 10ft to speed, disadvantage to every second Roll & they would recover half as much Hp from Resting.
