Originally created by west-tek for the military these slug like creatures were to be released into rural areas and destroy crops and food stock piles crippling Chinese armies without firing a single shot. Following the great war the slugs escaped and once in the Wasteland began to grow and further mutate in to gigantic fast moving creatures that barely resemble the slugs of the old world. 

Giant slugs can be Found all across the wasteland but prefer to Hunt in both the Hub Delta and the Irradiated Forrest due to the wet conditions and heavy Foliage, the Slugs are nocturnal and shy away from Bright lights making a Flood light an excellent Deterrent when traveling through the sewers below the wastes.  in these areas if an unwary adventurer finds themselves in the dark without a source of light they can quickly become over whelmed and devoured. the slugs stand at 5 to 7 Feet tall but are capable of squeezing through an opening 1 foot wide allowing them to travel in disused water pipes. 

in areas home to large numbers of Giant slugs green slime trails can be found as well as slime covered Bones from Recent meals, much like their old world counter parts giant slugs are vulnerable to Heat and salt, because of this a flamer is an excellent weapon for tackling large groups of creatures.
